Job Responsibilities
The Copyright & Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for supporting VerseOne Distribution’s clients and repertoire copyright initiatives. This role will handle confidential disputes and escalated legal matters while communicating professionally and diplomatically with our Digital Service Providers (DSP), aggregation partners, artists, labels and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include identifying and prioritizing issues as they arise and taking prompt appropriate action to ensure a positive experience for the third party. RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage and resolve copyright disputes received from third parties as they pertain to VerseOne Distribution’s clients’ and/or repertoire • Communicate directly with VerseOne Distribution’s clients regarding any and all copyright and/or artificial activity notifications to clients, responding accordingly • Maintain proper documentation and reporting for any and all copyright notices/artificial activity notices received for Symphonic client content • Research and analyze trends related to copyright and abnormal streaming activity • Provide support on any escalated legal matters as they relate to copyrights, where needed
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in in Music Business, Marketing, business, law related field • 2-3 years relevant work experience • Attention to detail • Self-motivation • Time-management abilities • General knowledge of copyright law • Positive attitude, works well in a team-based environment • High standard of ethics, ability to maintain confidential information • Experience in copyright dispute management • Experience with Zoho Suite, Zendesk or similar Helpdesk software • A can-do attitude, willingness to tackle matters outside of the core area of expertise • Proficiency in Chinese is a plus (though not required).
