Job Responsibilities

The Primary Visual Arts Teacher is responsible for teaching visual arts classes for upper primary students. This mission of the school is to enable confident, open-minded global citizens through life-long learning and a sense of community. By joining the school a teacher commits to further this mission during their time at the school. It is also expected that the teacher works to develop in our ten Schoolwide Learning Outcomes. These are the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. 1. The teacher plans using the school’s standards, the school’s curriculum, effective strategies, resources, and data to meet the needs of all students. 2. The teacher effectively engages students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies in order to meet individual learning needs. 3. The teacher systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses all relevant data to measure student academic progress, guide instructional content and delivery methods, and provide timely feedback to both students and parents throughout the school year. 4. The teacher uses resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment that is conducive to learning 5. The teacher maintains a commitment to professional ethics, communicates effectively, and takes responsibility for and participates in professional growth that results in enhanced student learning. 6.The work of the teacher results in acceptable, measurable, and appropriate student academic progress.

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements 1. Qualified with at least a Bachelor’s degree in education or PGCE, and a teaching certificate where applicable 2. Over three years of successful full-time teaching experience 3. A truly international perspective and cross-cultural competence 4. Willing to work in collaboration with colleagues to establish a positive school culture 5. Effective communication and engagement with children and their families
