Job Responsibilities
Job Description: Teach pre-school classes, prepare lessons that are faithful to the school curriculum and meet educational requirements in an age-appropriate manner; submit lesson plans in accordance with administrative guidelines on a weekly basis; Set appropriate termly English learning expectations and benchmark standards for the class before the new term starts; Develop a comprehensive English learning assessment at the end of each term for each child, analyze the evaluations and readjust the teaching objectives and teaching contents for the next new term accordingly; Write summaries of daily activities and provide parents with documentation; Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health; Track children’s progress and report to parents; help children reach developmental milestones; Instruct children individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet children's interests and varying needs; Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children, and policies and procedures to maintain order among children; Interact with children through instructional methods to include play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, science and physical activities; Oversee and facilitate the general safety of the classroom environment and its activities to include outside play; Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks and meals; Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play; Promote and foster each child's positive self-esteem and individual development toward fullest potential in the areas of physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth; Assist children with personal care activities to include toileting, feeding and cleanliness needs in relation to age/stage of development; Confer with parents, teachers, and administrators to resolve children's behavioral or academic problems; Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities, and guide children in learning from those activities Respect, appreciate and understand differences in learning and school culture; Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues; Work closely with Chinese homeroom teachers in a team-teaching atmosphere for classroom activities and shares pertinent information, suggestions or ideas on a regular basis; Collaborate with other teachers and staff members in the establishment of classroom environments that provide the aesthetic and learning opportunities for inquiry-based learning. Attend staff meetings, workdays and professional development activities as assigned or recommended; Contribute to afterschool activities on a regular basis; Adhere to all established policies, procedures and code of ethics; Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Head of department.
Job Requirements
Department Job requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree or above; Education major; 2. More than 2 years of teaching experience; 3. Teaching Credential/License required; 4. TESL/TEFL Certificate over 100 hours; 5. TEFL/TESOL certification minimum (CELTA/DELTA/PGCE/QTS preferred); 6. Experience working with early years children, with IB PYP curriculum or Reggio familiarity preferred; 7. Have an understanding and ability to teach children of all abilities.
