A villager in China was shocked to find an enormous snake inside her washing machine as she was about to do the laundry.

Footage shows the boa constrictor, said to weight 26kg (57lbs), curled up and resting in the washing machine on October 7 at the woman’s house.

Animal rescue caught the snake and took it back to their center.

Ms. Zhang, who lives in Beiti Village in Chaozhou, told Guangdong Television that she found the snake as she was about to wash her clothes.

‘I was scared! I thought it was a bed sheet but then it started to move,’ she said.   After being told by other villagers that the snake was non-venomous, she reported the case to the local animal rescue center.
