The idea has been developed by Swedish company Wheelys in cooperation with Hefei University and Himalfy.
It is currently travelling around the country in demo mode and has visited Shanghai. The shop is currently in Hefei.
According to Wheelys, the main aim of the store is to make grocery shopping environmentally friendly and cheaper to operate.
The store will stock groceries, ready meals, magazines and hot drinks.

One way that it is cheaper is that it does not have any staff at the store.
Customers download an app in order to call the mart to their area. Once the store arrives they can then scan items themselves and pay using the app.
Advanced AI technology means that the travelling mart knows when it needs to restock. It can also meet up with other Moby marts to swap products that it is short of.
There are plans to have drones on the roof of stores in the future that can deliver to houses.
According to the team behind Moby Mart, the store cuts down shopping time from between 30 and 60 percent.
