The McDonald’s employee who posted pictures of what he claimed were the mouldy innards of a McFlurry machine has been sacked – but he’s not losing any sleep over it.
Teenager Nick 18 years old, who did not disclose his surname, shared the photos on Twitter, claiming: “This came out of McDonald’s ice cream machine in case y’all were wondering…”. Nike was fired just days after he posted nausea-inducing photos he laims he took inside the McDonald’s he worked at in Louisiana, USA.

Nick said: “They were very disrespectful. They were begging me to delete my tweet. “They said I was slandering [the] McDonald’s brand. I don’t tweet lies. I took the tray out and took a picture.”
The teen – who claims he now has another job – knew full well that posting the photos would have severe consequences.
McDonald’s company-wide policy states employees shouldn’t do anything to “undermine the goodwill, reputation, development and/or operation” of the brand.

Nick upped the ante with these vile photographs. It adds: “Any deviation from these commitments may be subject to disciplinary or other appropriate action, up to and including termination of employment.” Nick said: “I always knew deep down I was going to post it.
“The working conditions were ridiculous — everyone was inappropriate and nothing was clean. “I shared it because I wanted to let people know what they’re consuming, and how disgusting the conditions are.”

As notified by McDonald’s U.S., the component showed in online images is used for holding the lubricant that might drop during the operation of the ice cream machine. The component is totally separate from the milk,” McDonald’s China said in a statement posted on its Sina Weibo account on Thursday.
Further, it said, “the headquarters of McDonald’s China spot-checked some outlets on Wednesday night and found that the indicators of ice cream machines in these stores were in line with McDonald’s standards.”
The company released a statement late on Wednesday, reassuring customers about the safety and cleanliness of its ice cream machines and other food production tools.
“In China, ice cream machines at McDonald’s outlets are automatically heated and disinfected every day at a set time to ensure food safety,” the company said.
