Foreigners may easily find commercial jobs in China. Internships, part-time jobs, full-time jobs, etc. This is a standard procedure. You will apply online, provide a CV, get interviewed, and then go to work and be paid. Unlike colleges, these firms do not wish to employ individuals from outside China, therefore this is ideal for applicants already in China.
How to Make Money in China?
But the compensation is low for these occupations. So why even mention it?
China and Hong Kong have many budding companies. You may join a team, help them succeed, and enjoy the advantages. Early sign-ups may be eligible for considerable equity incentives, profit sharing, etc.
This only applies to foreign-owned firms. Unless it’s a huge brand, you shouldn’t expect to become rich from a local Chinese company employment.
For a lucrative managerial position, I interviewed with Foxconn. But only after two years of hard entry-level labor would they move me to the USA with a nice position. I rejected since the workweek seemed too long to balance with family (80 hour weeks were standard).
Jobs Outside China’s Business
This is the major earner. The suits in Shanghai with their luxury vehicles, hotels, and meals.
If you have a job in the US and they want to move you to China, they will give you an enticing deal. Unlike commercial positions in China, you will be paid in US dollars. These include perks and pay.
Sadly, once entering China, these employment are essentially nonexistent. They aren’t marketed. If a company is seeking for talent in China, they probably won’t pay top dollar for it. That suggests they don’t want to overpay that applicant.
Admissions Adviser
Money, a lot of money. Personal statement aid for Chinese students studying abroad in the USA is in high demand.
This is a career that pays well in cities. They’ll work you 40 hours a week and pay you 20,000 – 30,000 RMB a month.
GREAT PART-TIME JOB FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AS ESSAY EDITOR
You may even do this part-time by editing personal statements. Yes, I’m referring about altering the Common App for US colleges. It’s tedious job with big benefits. I’ve monetized this to make a few thousand dollars during the busy seasons for weekend labor.
Your employers will expect you to write essays that will get their kids into prestigious institutions like USC, UCLA, and Ivies.
This employment paid approximately $1500 in a single day, but I detested it. Nothing is more depressing than trying to transform written $#% @ into gold.
Not to mention unethical, however we may rationalize it as helping the pupil express themselves best. Chinese students are known to use ghostwriters. But they adore Chinese pupils. Why? Chinese students pay out-of-state, non-scholarship overseas tuition for American students. Not too much partying or dropping out. You may benefit from an unethical system.
TEFL Teacher
I realize you didn’t come to my site to learn that teaching English in China pays the best. But listen.
English teaching is still one of the most rewarding careers in China, discouraging other vocations. I had a business job for years. But then I learned I could replace my full-time salary with part-time income from teaching!
So I resigned my job and returned to teaching, believing I could virtually double or quadruple my salary. Or I might teach to supplement my income and then work on my own projects. This is how China Briefcase began.
However, many individuals will fear teaching English. If it’s not your ideal job, you may feel like you’re working in vain.
You may earn good money here, but you only have so much time in a day to employ your teaching skills. I’ve seen folks make over 30,000 RMB ($4250 USD) every month training machines.
That’s great if you want to teach English. China is ideal for it. I strongly advise you to earn a masters degree in teaching and locate a job at a lovely international school. That’s the pinnacle of ESL lifestyle and income in China.
