Dhanak
A multiple award winner, it’s a heartwarming story about 2 siblings, the younger one who has lost his eyesight, and his sister, who set out across the colorful Indian state of Rajasthan on foot, with an only mission to fulfill her promise to get the brother’s eyesight back before his 10th birthday.
It’s a story, more about the journey (the various characters they meet on the way) than the final destination. This film reminds us of the small joys of life and teaches us a lesson in dealing with our sorrows. Who better to learn this from, than kids? Watch this film for some exotic shots of Rajasthan and soulful Indian music.
Bhool Bhualiyaa
It’s a thriller, comedy & horror Indian movies based on a psychological disorder known as ‘Dissociative Identity Disorder’, which stars some of the best actors of Bollywood. It has been re-created from a very successful 1993 Indian film, which has already been remade into several languages.
With some first-rate acting on display, this Indian movies or film has just the right ingredients of a successful movie – adequate amount of comedy, suspense and thrill to keep you at the edge of your seats throughout.
Neerja
It’s a biographical thriller film, which is a true story based on the life of an air hostess named Neerja Bhanot, who was shot dead by terrorists who hijacked the Pan Am Flight in Karachi (Pakistan) on 5 September 1986.
The film, with a great climax, depicts how she was killed by the hijackers while helping to save 359 of the 379 passengers and crew on board. An interesting story of courage & selflessness, which will keep you glued to your seat from the start till the end.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
This Indian movies or film has created a brand in itself by becoming the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema. It boasts of having successfully run in the theatres for almost 1009 weeks i.e. more than 20 years.
Shot in India, London and Switzerland, this Indian movies depicts strong Indian cultural and family values. It is an out-n-out romance film about two young Non-resident Indians, who fall in love during a vacation through Europe with their friends. Things take a twist when the boy finds out that the girl’s father has already promised her hand to a childhood friend’s son in India. How far will the boy go to save his love? Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
This enjoyable, light-hearted road movie is a salute to friendship. It is a journey of catharsis for three childhood friends who are busy with their respective lives and decide to set off on a bachelor trip and face their highs and lows of life together.
The entire film is shot in exotic & virgin locations of Spain, India, Egypt and UK. It shows some fun extreme sports that will give you adrenalin rush in your own seat & is aesthetically shot to capture the beauty of each moment.
Baahubali
Touted as India’s answer to Game of Thrones, this is a heroic historical fantasy film which has been made in 2 parts (Bahubali: the beginning & Bahubali 2: the conclusion) with larger than life sets, roaring elephants, dramatic scenes of war, massive Indian temples, gorgeous women, singing & dancing (obviously!), extravagant special effects (90% visualization in the movie was created by using computer graphics) that make it a visual spectacle.
It is a poignant story of love, trust, royalty, motherhood, family politics, war, etc. The films in the franchise were jointly produced on a budget of US$67 million, making it one of the most expensive films in the Indian movies or film industry. What makes this film so great? You have to see it to know.
