See the instruction above, fill the shipment number and verification code in the first and the second column respectively. The shipping number is an international shipping code, consisting of 13 characters; 2 letters at both the beginning and the end, with 9 numbers in the middle. Once you finish this step, one of the following situation will show,

1. The Parcel Will Be Transited To Another Customs

After the first step, you will get the result to see the parcel’s status. “邮件已放行” means “the parcel has been released.” and it goes the next step “转关邮件”,  which means the parcel will be handled in another place.

In this situation, the parcel only comes into China from Guangzhou Customs but another processing needs to be done by the local customs.

Such as the parcels from Fujian, Guangxi, will be transited and handled by the local customs, you could turn to there for further information of the parcel.

2.  The Parcel Has Been Released

As we mentioned above, when you see Chinese “邮件已放行”, everything about your parcel is working well. The last column shows the needed tax payment of the parcel. If empty there means needed tax payment is 0.

3.  The Parcel Is Needed To Pay Tax

4.jpgIn this situation, it also shows the parcel has been released, but one more thing, you need to pay tax once you get the delivery. The amount of tax payment shows in the last column.

4. The Parcel Is Needed To Return

If the result shows “邮件已办结退运手续”, It means the parcel is detained in customs! Probably because the value of the parcel is higher than it was declared.

In this situation, it is required to return overseas or according to its actual value to declare again.

2. How to Deal with Parcels in Detention?

Choose one of the following ways,

  • Contact customs to know the precise location of your parcel and go to the Customs to apply for returning.

  • Contact the customs and pay tax. Tax payment is based on the attributes, quantity and the value of the goods.
