What is it: A device for streaming content from your mobile phone to your TV

How it works: Plug the device into the HDMI port of your TV and connect to it using your mobile phone through Wi-fi. Follow the onscreen setup instructions to configure your phone as a remote control. You can stream videos, music and games straight to your TV. The device works with most phone models.

How it works: The speaker is connected to your phone via Wi-fi and can be controlled remotely using the free Sonas app. You can control multiple speakers through the app.

Why it’s cool: You can synchronise multiple speakers to play the same music and then, with just a few taps on the Sonos app, switch each speaker to independent mode. The speakers can be paired up with other Sonos equipment to create surround sound. They are also waterproof.
