The 26-year-old from Wenzhou did not use most of the items she bought as her main aim was to show off displaying the items on her social media account to get more likes, according to the Qianjiang Evening News.
Police found nearly 1,000 lipsticks, plus perfume, handbags and clothes at her home, with most unused and with the price tags attached. Most of the perfume was still sealed in its boxes.
The woman’s real name was not given in the report or details of the company where she worked.

The woman found accounting loopholes after she joined the firm four years ago, allowing her to take the cash.
She embezzled 890,000 yuan last year alone, according to the article.
The report said she turned herself in last week after she realised she would never be able to pay back the amount of money she had taken.

The woman, with a child aged three, became increasingly bad tempered with her family as she took money over the years as she became more afraid of exposure.
She used to make more than 10 orders a day on online shopping sites using the stolen cash.
“I just wanted to buy them when I saw beautiful pictures of lipsticks and perfume,” she was quoted as saying.

One person commenting on the story on social media said: “Online shopping can be really addictive and this is a kind of mental disease.”
