The pensioners were part of a square dance group who were reportedly playing loud music at the time according to the basketball players.
The men were playing basketball when they became frustrated by music coming from the square dancing pensioners.
An argument broke out between the two parties.
In the footage, one of the basketball players can be seen surrounded by the square dancers.
One of the pensioners can be seen throwing punches at the young man who then starts to fight back.

Many of the square dancers start to push the man and grab him.
He threatens to throw a basketball at the group.
The fight continues for some time.
One of the basketball players involved said that the group had been thrown off the court by the dancers for three days in a row.

The court was temporarily closed by police and the basketballers were persuaded to leave. Police said that they would coordinate with the park’s administration to move the square dancers to other places.
Internet users, the majority of whom are young people, came out in support of the basketball players.
“Why do they want to dance on a basketball court? There are already not enough places for young people to play sport,” one wrote.
“We only respect your good deeds, rather than your age,” another said.
