After the carnage that was Avengers: Infinity Wars, here’s what June is bringing to the big screens. Some expats might often not go to the cinema here, as Chinese movies are still considered pretty awful sometimes, and some Hollywood movies don’t come out in Chinese cinemas at all. But there’s still hope once in a while. when Hollywood blockbusters do get released in Chinese cinemas it’s usually the same time as overseas, sometimes even ahead of most of other countries.

<JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM>

China release date:Friday, 15th June 2018

The next installment of the huge Jurassic World franchise, can pretty much be considered Jurassic Park 6.

3.jpg

The first Jurassic World is rated a solid 7 on IMDb, having broken plenty of box office records at its time of release.  In this sequel to Jurassic World, when the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. This movie will be out inChina one week before its North America release. So it’s time to make those Avengers spoilers feel the fear!!!!!!

It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack’s emerging superpowers. The movie will be in cinemas at the same time with other countries, so book your tickets now!

China release date: Friday, 8th June 2018

Another film that will be released earlier in China than overseas. A deep cover operative awakens to find himself imprisoned on a submarine. With the help of a fellow prisoner and an amateur agent, he must race against the clock to escape the vessel and expose who set him up. Seems like a typical popcorn action film. Not rated yet but generating some buzz on Chinese website.

<Escape Plan 2>

China release date: Friday, 22nd June 2018

The first one was a nice “popcorn movie”, but this time without Arnold Schwarzenegger, will it still be the same?

15.gif

Years after Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) fought his way out of the escape-proof prison called “The Tomb,” he’s organized a new top-notch, for-hire security force. But when one of his team members goes missing inside a computerized techno-terror battle-maze known as Hades, Breslin, together with Trent DeRosa(Dave Bautista), must now decipher a way to break into the world’s best-hidden prison, release their kidnapped team, and make it out alive. Escape Plan 2 has not yet been rated on rotten tomatoes, but judging from the first Escape Plan we don‘t think it will be breaking any (positive) box office records anytime soon.
